Terms of Use

Last updated October 10, 2026

These Terms are a contract between you and us for the Goodtake iPhone app and getgoodtake.app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data and is part of these Terms.

1. Who we are

Goodtake is provided by Stackr Holdings LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we", "us"). Contact: support@getgoodtake.app.

2. Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy when you tap Agree and Continue on the first screen of the app, or when you otherwise use Goodtake. If you do not agree, do not use it.

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher minimum age for a service like this. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. If you use Goodtake for a business, you confirm that you can bind that business.

3. Your license

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use Goodtake on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store rules allow, for your own content, personal or commercial.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, rent or sell the app, or sublicense access to it
  • reverse engineer it or try to get its source code, except where the law allows it
  • remove our notices or branding
  • get around limits, credits, device checks or security
  • use the app or our servers to build a competing product, or reach our servers other than through the app

4. Your anonymous account

Goodtake does not ask for a name or email. When you tap Agree and Continue, the app creates an anonymous account tied to your install, checked with Apple's App Attest. We use it to run features, apply fair limits and keep track of your plan and credits.

Do not fake or share device identity, and do not create extra accounts to get around limits or free trials. You are responsible for what happens on your iPhone. Deleting the app or deleting your data may start a new account; purchases stay with your Apple Account and can be restored. We may limit or suspend an account that breaks these Terms or puts the service at risk.

5. Plans, credits and subscriptions

Credits. Editing a video with Goodtake uses credits: 1 credit for every started 5 minutes of footage in the video, counting all clips and takes together. For example, 12 minutes of footage uses 3 credits. A video can hold up to 60 minutes of footage. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred and are not refundable except as the law requires. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, credits that come with a subscription period do not carry over to the next period.

Plans. Goodtake offers plans you buy in the app through Apple, such as auto-renewing subscriptions. The purchase screen shows what each plan includes, how long it lasts and its price before you confirm, with links to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We use a third-party provider to show our plans; Apple processes every purchase.

Free trials. Some plans may include a free trial, for example a number of free credits. The purchase screen shows what the trial includes, how long it lasts and what you will pay when it ends. A trial that is part of a subscription becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. One free trial per person.

If you buy an auto-renewing subscription:

  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
  • Renewal. It renews automatically for the same period at the price shown unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancel. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Goodtake. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period. Deleting the app or your data does not cancel a subscription.
  • Price changes. If a price changes, Apple tells you and asks for your agreement where required. If you do not agree, cancel before the change.
  • Refunds. Apple handles billing and refunds, so we cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your legal rights are not affected.
  • Restore. On a new iPhone or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the app with the same Apple Account.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Goodtake to:

  • break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights
  • make or share content that sexualizes minors, threatens or harasses people, or is meant to deceive people in harmful ways
  • record or use someone's voice or face without the consent the law requires
  • attack, overload or probe our systems, or send our servers anything other than what the app sends
  • hide your identity from our device checks or get around limits

Report security problems to support@getgoodtake.app and give us time to fix them before you share them.

7. Your content

You own your content. Your videos, recordings, scripts, notes and projects are yours. We do not claim ownership of them.

What you allow us to do. You let us, and our service providers working for us, receive and process the parts of your content the app sends (the audio of your clips and information derived from it, such as the words you said) only as needed to provide Goodtake, keep it secure, and as the Privacy Policy describes. If you choose Send This Edit, you also let us use that edit to review and improve Goodtake. We need no other license.

What you promise. You own your content or have the rights to use it, including any music, images, fonts, logos and the voices and faces of other people in it, with any consent the law requires.

Keep your own copies. Goodtake is not a backup service. Your originals stay in Photos.

8. Speech-to-text and AI features

Goodtake uses speech-to-text and AI to find your words, propose cuts, pick the best take, find filler words and make captions. These features need an internet connection.

They can be wrong. Goodtake can cut something you wanted, keep a take you did not want, mishear words or misspell names. Review your video before you post it. You are responsible for the final video. Do not rely on Goodtake for legal, medical or safety decisions.

We do not promise that these features are always accurate, available or unchanged. We may change the providers, models and limits behind them. As between you and us, you own the edits and captions Goodtake makes for you, subject to the rights of others in material you bring in and in the bundled sounds and fonts.

9. Posting and licenses

You can save your videos and share them to apps such as TikTok and Instagram. Those platforms are not part of Goodtake and have their own rules. You are responsible for what you post and where, for following each platform's rules and the law (including rules on sponsored content, endorsements and product or health claims), and for having the rights to everything in your video.

Some sounds in Goodtake are free to use (public domain, CC0) and some fonts use open licenses; see Settings > About > Licenses in the app. Music, images or fonts you bring in are your responsibility. A platform may mute or remove a video that uses music you do not have rights to.

Goodtake is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by TikTok, Instagram or any other platform. Their names belong to their owners.

10. Our rights

Goodtake, including the app, its design, code, name and bundled materials, belongs to us or our licensors. We keep all rights not given to you here. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them.

11. Third-party services

Goodtake relies on Apple and on service providers, including speech-to-text and AI model providers. Their terms may apply to you. We are not responsible for their outages or actions. The Licenses screen in the app lists open-source and bundled materials.

12. Disclaimers

Goodtake is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of quality, fitness for a purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of AI results, and uninterrupted or error-free use. We do not promise that Goodtake works with every video or iPhone, or that it will never lose data. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.

13. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, followers, revenue, data or goodwill
  • our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you are a consumer, your mandatory legal rights stay in place.

14. Claims caused by you

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, or because you broke these Terms or the law, you will defend us and cover our reasonable costs, as far as the law allows.

15. Ending these Terms

You can stop using Goodtake at any time: delete the app, delete your data as the Privacy Policy describes, and cancel any subscription with Apple.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, put others or the service at risk, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Goodtake. When we reasonably can, we will tell you first. Sections 7, 10 and 12 to 16 continue after these Terms end.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, and by US federal law where it applies, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Apple's rules apply to purchases through the App Store.

If you have a problem, email us first at support@getgoodtake.app and give us 30 days to work it out with you. If that does not solve it, either of us may bring the claim in the state or federal courts located in Bergen County, New Jersey, and we both agree to those courts. If you are a consumer outside the United States, the mandatory consumer laws of your country still apply, and you may use your local courts where the law gives you that right.

17. Changes

We may change the app, its features and these Terms. If a change to these Terms matters, we will tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect and update the date above. If you keep using Goodtake after that, you accept the change. If you do not agree, stop using Goodtake and delete your data.

18. Apple's terms for App Store apps

These points apply because you get Goodtake from the App Store. Where they conflict with anything else in these Terms, they win.

  1. These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Goodtake and its content.
  2. Your license is limited to using Goodtake on Apple devices you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions allow.
  3. We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no duty to provide any.
  4. If Goodtake fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid for the app, if any. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for Goodtake. We are responsible for any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to meet a warranty.
  5. We, not Apple, are responsible for claims about Goodtake or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  6. If someone claims that Goodtake or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  7. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated by the US government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Goodtake, such as your mobile data agreement.
  9. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept them Apple may enforce them against you.
  10. Send questions, complaints or claims about Goodtake to us at the contact details in section 1.

19. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Goodtake. If a part is not enforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example to a company that takes over Goodtake. We may give you notices in the app, on this website or by email if you have written to us. If we provide a translation, the English version controls where the law allows.
